World War 1 medals

WOW, 50-1 thats a big difference. Would be very proud to have a great grandfather who surrended like that.

The London regiment certainly got a lot of 'interesting' action, my grandfather was also in the regiment and got a MM at third Ypres in 1917. He said that a MM was much harder to get as the officer I/C had to survive, if the officer died he got the gong and you got mentioned in dispatches. But then he was well balanced - a chip on both shoulders!

Interesting, what was your grandfathers name/battalion? Ive got the official history of the regiment published in 1929 and he may be mentioned.
