Worried about 3080 Performance

Hello,

I've been doing some Firestrike Extreme benchmarks on my 3080 vs my old 1080 Ti. im only getting ~36% improvement albeit synthetic (20,889 vs 15,301)

i was expecting > 50% improvement, however i do only have 1 x 16GB DDR4 3200, vs 2 x 8GB DDR3 1600, which i plan on replacing with a new 32GB kit for dual channel.

Can anyone help me with some trouble shooting ?

I've changed NVIDIA control panel to prefer maximum performance already.

I've just installed 2 x 8GB dimms corsair vengance 3600.

Slight improvement, but nothing to shout about.

I just updated the bios and performance increased slightly.

So Dual channel with XMP and a bios update it's gone from 20,889 to 21 907 so +4.8% increase in GPU

25825 to 27029 so +4.7% for physics, which i believe is CPU, however it only uses 60%

I'll test some actual games shortly.

These results are from when I upgraded from a 1080Ti to a 3080 (the old inferior 10GB model) :rolleyes:
And my 4090 system in there for good measure :D
