Worried about HDD Temps.

What is you ambient temperature?
My ambient is 20 and mine sit at 30 and 31, so i think yours are a bit hot. As far as I am aware those temperatures are not particularly dangerous though as with all components the cooler you run them the longer they will last

Not sure really. will have to get a thermometer down here, not hot, or cold though, probs normal.

Probably nothing I can do currently. Will have kit my case out with better fans when i get the chance.

You could always stick some heatsinks to the exposed metal areas to make the airflow count for more. Determine which areas by sticking your finger on it and feel for the warmest spot.
Or use screws to mount the hard drive as that'll dissipate some heat to the case.
40s though isn't too bad. 50s and 60s are more concerning.
