Hi and thnx for reading this. In the past week i recently built the above system, due to the release of Crysis 2 i wanted a spec that would run it well on my 21.5 inch display. Now this is the first machine i've put together with high end gaming in mind and when i run diagnostics tests during gameplay i see temperatures of 79 degrees C on card 1 and 76 on card 2 reletively constant throughout playing. As i say this is first time in the gaming market for me and these temps seem a little high. The game was beeing played on the graphic setting 1 down from top.

During gameplay the game runs well i am happy with the way my system handles the game in terms of performance i'm just concerned about the heat. My thoughts on this were that maybe the case is not up to the job but i've only just bought it and i'm a little low on brass now so i was just wondering if there are any ideas as to any low cost mods i can make of ways i can reduce temperatures a little. Was wondering whether switching the stock 120mm fans to some reccommended ones might help a little. But if any1 can give me their opinion / advice then it would be appreciated.

Owe also 1 more thing at what temperature at load should my CPU be running and what sort of temperature would be the reccommended top limit for it.

Many thnx again for reading this

That is perfectly normal for 2 of those. I've got 2 Palit GTX 460 SLI. Top card has aftermarket cooler and reaches 70-75C. 80-85C on gfx card is fine, not advisable but it will run at it.

If you can fit it, aftermarket coolers will help. But the cooling on the top card is limited because of the proximity to bottom card.

My 2500k is overclockd to 4.6ghz and idle temps are in the 30s and at load 60-65C. Just to give you an idea. Stock should run a lot cooler than that.

Seekdestroy, What cooler have you got on your Palit card?
I've got SLI Palit 460's as well and the temperatures are a bit frightning:D
