When in standby, it's silent but once triggered by line input or manually switching it it begins to buzz very loudly. I'd put this down to transformer hum, but noticed when trying to record it earlier that there's another noise at approx 18 seconds into the video. To me, it sounds like a capacitor boiling.. erk.
