I've recently been asked to have a look at a few problems on a PC for a client and upon looking at the PC I thought I'd check the CPU and RAM spec and to put it one way... I was shocked!
The PC has 8gb RAM but was only running a 32bit operating system!
I asked about this and apparently he bought the PC specifically with 8gb of RAM, surely the company he bought it off (a reputable one at that) would have known to install a 64bit operating system to utilise it...
It may have been a stupid blunder on the system builders behalf but at the same time it worries me how many people are being sold systems that they are not truly getting.
Oh it wasn't the purple shirt place before you ask, It was quite well known company who provide customer builds on request though so I would have thought better of them.
I can feel a spec savers style "Should have gone to OcUK" coming on lol
Has anyone else ever come across this when working on other peoples PCs?
