There is a already threads for Best games & Worst games, floating around.

This thread is slightly different, I hope.

List the worst games in terms of errors, lags, patchable errors etc. Has to be genuine errors etc, not features you don't like in the game, things that do not work how they were designed to. Low framerate etc should be left out imo as that is not really patchable and usually game engine etc issues.

i.e
Invalid- "I don't like "xxxx" game because there is no checkpoint system is not a valid reason. (game design issue)"
Valid - "game "xxxx" always crashes when you do "xxxx" on level "xxxx" etc. (an unintentional, patachable error)."

Please stick to games you own or have played on your own platforms and not just games you have "heard" are buggy etc. Has to be RELEASED in 2008 as well.

LittleBigPlanet (PS3) - Play,Create,Share rankings not working. Developers busy selling costumes instead of patching the servers.

Fable 2 (360) - So many show stopping bugs it is ridiculous that they claimed the game was finished 1 month before release date and then had to release a day 0 patch. To date no patch to fix the major issues (was due on 22nd Dec along with DLC I think). Stores with no items for sale, characters that will no longer lose weight, list of glitches is very long.

Gears of War 2 (360) - Matchmaking, knackered, even after a patch was released. Developers busy selling map packs that could not fit on the DVD.

SSF2THD:Remix (PSN) - Quite a lot of disconnect errors, inaccurate stats on leaderboards and some major lag, at times. Game been developed for 2 years. Capcom relatively quiet on issues, patch not guaranteed tbh.

Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer (PSN) - Respawning behind walls or "in" walls in a basic clone of side scrolling shooters from 15 years ago is unforgiveable imo. Game is only 2 weeks old, but being a sub 10 pounds Arcade game, I am not expecting a pacth tbh.

All 5 of mine are recentish games, but I can't think of anything else I bought this year with so many issues so close to release date to be honest. (Or maybe I did not hammer my other games like the ones above and spot so many issues, so soon!).

Quantum of Solace (360) - In the car park of the desert hotel near the end of the game, the game would always crash at the same point when being attacked by lots of soldiers meaning it was actually impossible to progress and complete the game. Glad I only rented it.

FarCry 2 is in my opinion buggy, but the problem is i'm unsure whether what i view as bugs were deliberate decisions or indeed bugs. Things like a large truck full of enemies being faster than you in a dune buggy, the near-instant respawn of enemies in checkpoints, the fact that in the first 10 mins of playing my car got stuck on a picket fence and i had to run for a good 5 mins just to find another car. The fact that it sometimes becomes impossible to find a new supply of malaria medication before you drop dead so have to use an old save.

Then there were the obvious bugs, things like a wildebeest running into a parked car and dying, trees in the middle of a bush fire not catching alight, rockets suddenly veering off towards the sky for no apparent reason, enemies getting suck in eachother, the list goes on.

As i say, not sure if they're all actually bugs, but they sure felt game breaking to me.

Bioshock (ps3) - For some players the game gets stuck very near the end.

Spolier: Little sister won't go past test subject 2 on Proving Grounds.

There's a thread about it over 2k forums.

Soldner-X (ps3) - As already stated, respawning behind walls is annoying, though the developers seem to feel there is no need to change it at the moment - link. I would recommend joining the forums and requesting for it to be changed :)

Bully on the 360 had a pretty fundamental bug where under cirtain circumstances it wouldn't play out of the box.

Grid also had the stuttering issue when a HDD was connected (caching of replay data).

I love Fallout 3 but...

- Easy to get stuck in rocks. My character is a bad-ass mother****er who can kill people just by looking at them. He's no match for a pile of rocks though.

- Clipping issues. I needed two parts to make a custom weapon. Found both in the same location, picked up the first one and the second fell through the floor. Grrrrr.

Saints row 2 (360) - Clipping issues/Random crashes after doing some missions/Part of game got stuck for me so I couldnt carry on.

Very very annoying and its kind of ruined the gaming experience for me.

To be fair most games are buggy or have some sort of bug. However I would say that the worst for me is GOW2 due to getting stuck on things that are not even there and getting cover on objects I did not select, must admit though it was a lot better than the first one in terms of bugs. Oh and the shotgun is still way overpowered.

Fable 2 was easily the buggiest game for me, from small things like getting stuck and being unable to move so having to reload to two missions that I can't complete as the characters who asked me to do the quest won't talk to you after you have done everything. Still enjoyed it a lot though :)

Gears of War 2, easily. How they fubar'd the online so completely is beyond me!

Honourable mention to the whole of XBL for not having dedicated servers or a European only filter.
