How is the Vauxhall 0-60 done? Full load?

That is so true. My mum has just got rid of her 1.4 LS Auto Corsa (ooh-er) and she accidently pressed the 'S' on the gear stick. The car basically seems to proceed to just not change gear, so she did get a bit worried before noticing it had been turned on.

Have to say the worse car I have driven is.... ALL PEUGOTS, and a chrysler PTBTPTTTT cruizaaar with chrome everywhere, the chrysler X-pants-for-hire, and the voyager with the OMGWTFBBQ auto box.

Apparantly the 957cc Fiestas were either 40bhp or 47bhp. I had one as my first car

My parents have an 06 Corsa SXi 1.2 twinport as a second car. It isn't all that bad. Its got 80 PS which isn't bad for a 1.2, 0 - 60 about 11.8 seconds.

As people keep pointing out, that car and modern Corsas are a far cry from the older ones. The one I drove was 12 years older than yours.

Clearly know little as the engine would be referred to as "TwinPort", absolutely nothing to do with sport, In fact the engine goes fairly well for a small car, the manual producing around 75bhp and pulling the car to 60 in 12 seconds. Not bad for a little 1.2, not to mention the 50mpg that they get, I have a 1.4 SXI as well as an Astra TwinTop Design and both have been faultless.

. All the other cars in the fleet I know well but that thing is simply dire, just my opinion.

I agree, I am very fussy on what I expect from a car tbh. Being old fashioned/mildly sexist, I just don't think fully grown men should drive them by choice but that's just me, it appears at work at least

Personally such lack of knowledge knowledge on the subject of 1.2 litre Corsas is not something to be ashamed of.

Rubbish. I had a '96 1.4 16v Corsa as my first car about 5 years ago. Wasn't fast by any means but certainly nippy. My mum has the '06 1.2 SXi and my old Corsa could've thrashed the pants off it. New 1.2 Corsas are slow as ****.

The only reason the Corsa the OP mentions is so slow is because of a) the auto gearbox, and b) the horrible Vauxhall 8v engines which are renowned for being absolutely abysmal in every respect.

You don't know slow until you've driven a 106 Diesel (1.5), I had to pick my parents up at Belfast International in my wifes, couldn't get over 60mph on the way back.

I am the OP
Corsas are still junk no matter what you say. They are silly little cars for people who either: A) Can't drive properly or B) Can't afford a proper car.
I'm sure the Corsa I drove would have been much better with a manual 'box but better than down right awful is still pretty terrible.
