Right. I think this game was on the Megadrive. May possibly have been the Master system but I don't think so.
It's a side scrolling shooter where you shoot lots of little bad guys and then you fight the boss at the end of the level. The bosses I think were different animals, snakes, birds, fish etc. The fish I think I remember shooting off the scales and then it just being a bare fish bone thing which then got destroyed.
The backdrops were different each level also. One I recall was just a basic landscape and it's as if you are flying through a corridor fighting the baddies.
