Worst hotel you've ever stayed in?

Another current thread on here got me wondering about this.

Personally I've no great horror stories to tell but I'm guessing some of you could entertain us with some horror stories.

Any real life Basil Fawlty stories you'd care to entertain us with??

Any tales of jaw dropping, disgusting hotels, B&B, hostels?

It was just somewhere to kip so we didn't turn up until after the main event of the night and many many drinks. It was a pub, a fairly rough pub that was very rowdy. Not unusual for me, but some of my colleagues were like a fish out of water trying not to make eye contact with anyone. I went to the loo before heading to the room and it was covered in blood. Some of the rooms were in an annexe out back which is where we were. It was like an exaggerated scene from a movie with the sound of people having loud sex & domestic arguments with dodgy looking people just loitering in the hallways. I'm sure it was being used as a brothel.

Half of the group just got an expensive taxi home before they even went in their room they were that horrified

I use to frequent the sawdust and spit pubs back in my youth. Back then I would have thought your post was a bloody good advertisement for the place.

Me and the missus went to Alvor, Portugal for a week. Booked in to the hotel, (hotel was nice), on the first day decided to go in to Alvor town. Got a taxi. The trip to town took 20 minutes by taxi. A few days later we decided to walk in to town. Took us 10 minutes to walk it
