Worst Job Interview

Did you do an impression of a dinosaur?

It can't have been that bad; your mind tends to make it seem worse than it is!

I don't really know why it was bad, just felt like they were grilling me over and over. And they always ask at the end do you have any questions, and normally they cover everything so i never can think of anything.

So i just asked when can i start? felt a bit cheeky but i don't think i will be starting there anyway, no matter. was just wondering if anybody had some horror stories they'd like to share.

Lol was thinking about the reverse teradactal but thought i better not.

Tom.

I never ask questions, mostly because I can't think of any at the time, but also they often seem impressed that I have no queries. :)

My last interview went well though, and I got the job. :D

You should always have questions preplanned unless it's just a doss job at Homebase or something.

Yep. I thought I completely ballsed up the interview for the job I have just started. I got the job :)

Perhaps it's really not as bad as it seems, but my mind tends to go completely blank in interview situations. I often tell them that too. I like to think it was perhaps my honesty that got me this job :D

Good luck regardless.

I had a 2nd interview today for a job I applied for, however I thought it went well and 3 hours later they rang me to offer the job.

Not that this is relevant to the thread but I'm really happy at the moment due to getting this job and will be celebrating in style tonight.

I've heard quite the opposite from what interviewers have told me, it's another opportunity that you've thought about the position in depth and can show your interest in the company.

Of course it depends entirely on how the interview goes, and if it works for you (as it has so far) then don't listen to anyone else!

:edit: I recently had an extremely successful interview, they said they were really impressed! Only my second ever intervew too

I once went for a job and turned up about 5 hours early. I got the time mixed up with another interview. I wasn't going to even bother going back but i went back anyway, interview went well and i got the job. Still there now :)

I once got caught eyeing up the 2nd interviewer's legs during an interview, needless to say I didn't get the job. In my defence though, they were nice legs.

Agreed,

I always try to find questions to ask. Even if its a little more detail about the company or particular role.

Problem is that pretty much everything I would ask has already been covered by them in the interview, certainly was for my interview with Surrey University (last interview). About the only thing I could have asked I know the wouldn't be able to answer because they'd already asked me what sector of IT interests me and where I'd like to work within the company. So my question of 'Could I work more with the networking people than the 'customer' facing people?' would have been pointless. :)

They actually said it was quite nice that I didn't need to ask any questions...but then I hadn't bothered to read up on them before the interview...all I knew was the train route to get there. :p

I have asked questions in other interviews, but they have been pointless ones.

My worst was with Royal Mail. It was about 10 of 12 years ago when I was a hopeless 20 year old. I froze up. It was an awful experience and it stopped me leaving my old, poorly paid job for years. :(

The second time around with Royal Mail was a much better performance. It helped that I was the only one to turn up wearing a shirt and tie and unlike one of my fellow candidates, I did not argue with the interviewer. :D
