A better invention would be a mechanical arm built into the dashboard that slaps you whenever you pick up your phone while driving.

I particularly like this idea

The other thing that bugs me slightly is the trends always seem to predict raging successes no matter how little has been pledged (or how unlikely it is given the project, not that the trends look at that)..
