Depends how easy it is to get to the heatsink - some of the dell laptops I see are only a few months old and are choked with dust, so if you can clean it easily then go for it. It does reduce temps and fan noise. I fixed two dells today with early GPU failure and both had heatsinks completely blocked with dust - coincidence? Note that some laptops use heat pads instead of grease so don't damage them when you remove the heatsink unless you have replacement pads ready - the gap between the heat sink and the relevant chip are too large to bridge with grease....
