Worth adding a second 4870 x2 ?

So far my specs are:
i7 920 @ 4.2 GHz
R2E
6gb 2ghz c8
intel x25m ssd
4870 x2

Thinking of getting a second 4870 x2 for a crossfire set up. Im hoping this will be enough to last a year and a bit. I mean at the moment the only game I had a problem with is metro 2033 at high settings. Also my resolution is only 1680x1050 atm. Will it last until the high end 7 series or next nvidia cards come out ?

easily, how much are you looking on spending on another 4870x2, it might be better to sell your current one and upgrade to a more powerful single card? on the other hand i just bought a 5970 for £260 so theres always that to consider.

Reviews of quadfire always seem to show numerous examples of no gain or a negative gain in some games.
