Hi, i'm stuck between upgrading my current computer OR completely building a new one.

Here's my current build

Motherboard: ASUS M5A87 (AM3R2) Year 2011
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition
GFX Card: GeForce GTX 560ti Twin Frozr II
Memory: 12GB DDR3

I want to be able to play Fallout 4 & Battlefront (Not on high settings)

Would it manage if I only upgraded the Graphics Card?(Asus GTX 970) Or what else would you recommend I need ?

Thanks.

Overclock the CPU and upgrade the graphics card and you will be sorted. You may need a better CPU cooler though.

I used a 955BE overclocked to 4.5ghz for a while with a 970 and it was fine :).

Thanks for replies, Ironman, money isn't really an issue but no point spending £1000+ when it can go towards better things and just pay £280 and it does the job for the meantime.

What games were you playing while you had that setup, Harry?

Also one thing with amd boards is they rarely change the socket and if you want another upgrade down the line you can always update the motherboard bios and throw in a newer CPU

Thanks a lot, I have bought & installed an MSI GTX 970, haven't overclocked my CPU and it runs like a dream! Thanks Harry!
