As title

really like the look of dead rising, do u think it's worth getting a 360 just for it ?

would possibly get PGR3 at a later date :)

Cheers

EDIT: btw, i don't have a HDTV so will i need to buy a seperate cable to connect to my SDTV (scart/composite conection)

if you buy core or premium you can use the cable on normal TV as far as i know as mine does!

I personally would buy xbox360 just for Dead Rising as i dont like the game due to it becoming very boring quickly due to doing the same thing.
But as far as other games go, get one!

The lead you get with the Xbox has composite (carp) and component leads (superb), so the best and the worst!

You really need at least an RGB SCART. I bought the official SCART for £20 but GAME do an RGB SCART for £15, there's also an official one for sale in the 'for sale forum' on here for £12 that I saw earlier, you might be lucky and it's still there, have a quick look ;)

As for your main question, I don't think any game is worth spending £200-£300 to play. So I'd say definately not.

No console is worth buying just for a single game.

Given that the OP hasn't got a HDTV, I'd say no. The 360 is, of course more then just a console but for a single game its just pointless. Will you be hooking it upto Xbox Live? If not then its even more pointless. You can watch dvd's with it too but thats about it.

Wrong.

XBox for Ninja Gaiden.
Well considering you can pick an xbox up for about £50 new with Ninja Gaiden then I'd agree with you, it's without doubt one of the finest games ever made :)

To assume everyone has a HDTV is one of the most stupid things I've ever heard! They aren't even worth buying yet!

As mentioned above, no console is worth forking out hundreds of pounds for just one game which will at some point become boarding.

I would say its a exellent insentive to go out and buy a console for the game but if you only plan on buying for one game (which i find hard to see anyone doing) it would'nt keep you entertained forever.

I have a 360 and i have Dead Rising on pre-order and can't wait to get my mits on it after playing the demo :D.

Another game i would say is a great incentive is Saints Row, i dont know why exactly but i find my self liking it more than the Grand Theft Auto games, Gears Of War dont look to shabby either ;) .

I love the Metal Gear Solid games but i would see it hard for me to buy a PS3 just to play that single game and nothing eles.

If you do plan on buying a 360 i would suggest waitting til atleast November 17th (PS3 Launch Date) or Christmas as im sure there will be some great Xbox 360 Deal's to be had to compete for you money.

well it would be for dead rising only until something else comes out that i want, but at the moment dead rising is the only game that makes me want one

my tv has rgb scart input

i am concerned about the text issues though

i also have a tft monitor, so could use that if i really need to

thanks for the info/advice so far. keep your opinions coming ;)

You're better off using that for the 360 should you purchase one then. As they're already capable of hitting hdtv resolutions and the difference between SD and VGA is colossal. You'll require a VGA lead for the 360 though, costs about £18 retail.

Its worth it for the demos, the arcade games and the dvd playback.

Its a nice piece of kit, its up there with my N64 as my best ever console.

If you can connect it to the net, you can download so much stuff for free, it isn't bad with no games, so if you really want Dead Rising, and there are a few more on the horizon you like, go for it!

i sort of bought mine for one game , perfect dark . Not the greatest game but i am no means unhappy about my purchase. PGR is saweeeet. The abilitiy to download demos is definately quality and the way it tracks highscores between friends , Geometry wars. Infact you should buy your 360 just for geometry wars. Dont forget as well that a lot of original xbox games work on the 360 so if youve never played the halo series or other xbox only titles then you could give them a go now. I personally picked up San Andreas the other day because i had never played it. Doing it now and its a great little game for £10 :)

It really depends if the cost of the console is a big thing to you or not. My ex bought a newer ps2 when they came out just so he could play GT4, but the cost didn't make much of a dent in his account at the time.
If spending £300 doesn't bother you too much, then go for it. If you've already got the console, you're more likely to buy other games.

hey guys, thanks for all your advice

i have decided to go for it

i will be going to game this afternoon

i am getting a core with dead rising and ive decided to get saints row also

one question though....can i save my game progress without a hard drive ? or is there a memory card available for the 360 ?

ta

fly

edit: ive just read in the sticky that there is a memory unit available, but it says it is for tranfering saves between consoles. so is it just a regular memory card ?

cheers

Get the premium package just get the one game for now and do not buy a memcard and then you will only have to find a few quid to make up the difference.
