As title really? Is it really worth buying the current DS with a new version on the horizon? I'm not really keen on importing one so judging by what i've read the new version is unlikely to be released till August.

Cheers

Some people don't like the look of the case, some people couldn't care less... which one are you ?? :)

Its not like the new one does anything the old one doesn't (apart from screen brightness settings)

Yeah, just get the current one. Personally, I think it's the perfect size anyway - I don't really see the point in making it smaller. And I think the new one looks cheap and nasty personally. As for the screen brightness....again, I'm at a loss.....the regular DS is fine in that regard

Just make sure you get one anyway - the DS is fantastic!

i think the new one looks like it cost more than it does, I would wait but then again im not as desparate as you are, so go get one with mario kart :)

The screen on the lite looks very impressive from pictures. I remember thinking the GBA SP screen was perfectly bright enough but compare it to a current DS and the difference is incredible. I think it's a similar step up. The refined d-pad and springier buttons are obviously small improvements but it all adds up.

If I was thinking about getting a DS now I would definately hold on another couple of months unless I was really desperate.

Personally I'd wait a few months till the old type go down in price (especially second hand) but that's because I'm cheap :D Plus I plan to do the same so I can get my Mum her own DS.

I went ahead and bought one yesterday, mainly because I only have an old advance and the no front/backlight bugs me. Wasnt worth the difference in price to buy an SP/Micro over an DS.
