Due to the really decent price on the 9900k at the moment is it worth bagging myself one now?

I can't afford the mobo (ASUS HERO XI) or the ram yet as that will have to wait for a couple of months for those funds.

I just don't want to wait that long and prices suddenly shoot up tbh.

Any comments?

Well the only way they can get cheaper now is for the pound to gain significant strength against the USD. So far all it’s done is weaken further!

Still no competitor has matched us though they have tried to get closer!

Also OcUK is now the only place with the Intel Starter Pack promotion and Intel are running out of games as from the pack they only have COD4 left I believe.

So I suspect in a months time price will be no better or higher and no free items.
Thanks Gibbo. Yes your price is the best out there for the retail right now.

It has been coming down for a while now and the pound has also weakened and this was my thoughts on buying now or later.

I'm not really interested in the software bundle tbh. If it was a 1tb ssd then I'd be much more tempted but I understand hardware bundled is a much different ball game than software which I totally respect.

Strong rumours point to AMD announcing Ryzen 2.
Ahh right. Fair enough :). Ill hold off then.

Worst decision you can make, buying a CPU before you can afford the other parts. Fair enough if it was and actual big discount, like £200 off list (£480ish) but it's not, it's a few free software codes and enough discount to get you a bottle of wine and some cheese.

As already mentioned, if AMD show something compelling at CES that will make the 9900K look overpriced, then you'll be kicking yourself. I'd also question the affordability to you, if you can't buy all three at the same time, then clearly waiting is better than ending up with something that is more likely to fall in price than go up by the time you come to use it.
Yea you make a good point. Ill wait a bit.

Yea totally agree guys. Just one of those itches you know.

I have a new case already so that one is done. Just the cpu, ram and mobo to upgrade my current build
