Am using a BenQ FP241Z monitor.

Gaming, films (blueray as well as DVD) ,internet and general use.

No photography etc

Basic ? is - would it be a good idea to calibrate the monitor using Spyder2 Express ?

Am not unhappy with the monitor at the default setting except I turned down the Brightness and contrast a little BUT am now thinking ' could it be better ??'

Was about to press the 'buy' button when I had another thought (two in a day - a record) what do the experts at OcUk forums think?

So your thoughts, please

Sorry this should be in the Monitors section .

No idea how to move it - if someone can ;please do so.

Rather than double up will leave as is.

2 thoughts a day is my max- obviously my brain overheated having had its second one :D

I doubt it would be worth it...

I recently had my home cinema projector professionally calibrated to 6500K color and wow what a difference that made (everything looks 10x better than before) - however the guy did my main TFT at the same time and there wasn't much of a difference - I think he was using spider 3 or something.

Suppose it depends how good/bad your screen is from new. My NEC 20WGX2 is almost as good as they get out of the box, calibrated it is better but maybe not enough to notice except in certain things like movies and games.

Best thing to do is club together with a bunch of mates and share the cost of buying a calibration device if you want to go down that route.

Look on tft central to see how good/bad your screen is out of the box first though.
