Hi there I currently have a P8P67 Deluxe motherboard with 2x 580s in SLI
i use my pc mainly for divx encoding and Games so would the Z68 board speed things up for me? I know it uses quick sync but will that beat the 1024 cuda cores I have or boost my gaming performance? cheers

I would also like to know this. Are the pci-e slots 16x

i have the same board as you and game and do the odd bit of converting.

But i have gtx 480 sli.

Were in Manchester you from mate. Im in heywood

I live in atherton mate, our board takes it down to 8x 8x in sli but ive heard the difference in 8x and 16x is very slight. you may get 1 extra frame per second in 16x mode over 8x. because games are so gpu intense you only use around 30 percent of your cpu. so the z68s let you encode your movies with the on chip gpu (on the cpu) and play games with gtx 480 gpu and not slow your system down. so can do 2 things at once :-) so if its true could be worth it and with the added feature of the 2 x 16x slots make the games alittle smoother too

Ive heard of something to do with a ssd caching the files which you use the most. Can someone explain it to me please.

So with the added features it may be worth the upgrade. I will only do it when the prices come down a bit and the tech is a bit more supported.

That sounds good to me. I have a ssd with windows on it and all i benefit from it is boot up times. But with this your games will all load fast.

Wonder if you can make it bigger than 20gb

I don't think it would be worth the price to upgrade either to be honest with you.

(Also, i'm from Altrincham - Manchester :) )
