i noticed that the Opteron 144 is on offer and i was wondering is it worth me getting when ive got the [email protected] would there be a nice performance increase in games.

Not really unless you can get it significantly higher. Both have 1 meg cache .
144 = 9 multi so you would need 277 htt to get equal to it.

I know his board will do that - no guarantee with the chip though. Guess theres only 1 way to fiond out. Sell your other cpu to fund it and pocket the difference.
