As title really, can prob get £100 for my E6300 so the 4300 would only cost £13.

My current RAM is holding it back im sure so ive got some Geil Uktra on the way this week which should see the E6300 past 3Ghz so is it really worth changing?

The E6300/DS3(or 4)/PC6400 is a proven combination that will almost definitely do 2.8GHz and, if your RAM is up to it, will almost certainly go higher. E4300's are starting to yield good results, but ultimately no better than E6600's, E6700's, E6400's or E6300's. They all do roughly 3.3-3.6GHz on air and they only differ in how you get there. If you have any of those chips, why would you spend more to get an equivalent overclock?

If your E6300 has a dished IHS or is known to idle hot at stock, then OK, change it - but otherwise I wouldn't swap a known quantity for a potential disappointment.

According to core temp its idling at 56 degrees, but Speedfan says 35 degrees. Temps dont seem to increase under load

Im still on stock cooler until i get a freezer 7 this week
