I currently have my net with o2, which has been ok when i first had it, but the last 4 months the line has been dropping out occassionally and have had a noisy phone line on the odd occassions. I've had 4 bt engineers round to sort it out, but i've basically given up with them now and i'm just having to make do with the present quality (waste of time). We've also got our tv with sky and phone with bt as well.

Is it worth changing to virgin media to have a whole package now? I really need a more stable net with no noise on my phone line at random times, so i just wondered how good Virgin's hardware and service were for this?

Cheers :)

If you have a noisy voice service then bite BT's ear till they fix it? It's got nothing to do with your ISP at all (assuming you've already made sure it isn't your filters and wiring that are broken)...

Oh yeh its definitely bts fault mate, but i've already called them out 4 times and i'm fed up with it now lol. Of course if i'm fed up with BT it has a knock on effect with O2 (although i know its not their fault). Its definitely a problem past the test socket and unfortunately the engineers that i've had have been pretty useless.

Well if that's the case I'd phone up and threaten to leave if it isn't sorted out very quickly.

Though if you can get VM's cable service you'll probably be better off on that and most likely save yourself a lot of hassle rather than deal with BT.

Yeah, it's likely worth playing hardball with them then. What the four "engineers" say when they visited?

Appealing though it is just to bin it and run to cable, their record's hardly fantastic when it comes to fixing faults either.
