Have had my current standard size case setup for the past 18 months or so and haven't really kept that up to date with new hardware. I want less clutter now so can someone point me in the direction of a shuttle/small case setup that would be worth while getting to improve the below spec:

Opteron 144 @ 2.7ghz
Lan Party NF4 Ultra D Mobo
2gb DDR
ATi Radeon X800 GTO2 unlocked (wouldn't mind keeping)
160gb Hitachi hds722516VLSA80 HDD (would keep)

Play the odd game of CoH and a couple of FPS games, mostly music, videos and the web.

Cheers!

if you want to go the mATX way. you can keep all the parts bar the mother board
all you need is a nice mATX board and a mATX case.

hmm whats the ATi Radeon X800 GTO2 card? Agp or Pci-E ?

let me know so i can post a list of 939 boards for you to go for.

Guys

The GTO2 is Pci-E and I'm happy with the gfx, ram and cpu performace overall for what I need.

Ideally I'd like a mATX mobo and case that'll allow me to OC the GFX and CPU as I do now.

I do OC the card when playing games, and have 2 x 120mm fans (5v'd) blowing over the card when playing games, it does get warm in there, the exhaust fan is noticibly warmer when gaming.

Would a more sensible option be to upgrade the card to one that performs similar at stock to the GTO OC'd?

Thanks!

Well i'd either pick up one of the Socket 939 Shuttles, or, if it was me, a nice microATX case like the Silverstone Sugo SG01e or Lian-Li V300, with a DFI RS482 motherboard.

You might also have to pick up a smaller cooler, there's a height limit with these cases IIRC.

But, set up correctly, you should get the same overclock with your Opteron. :)

yea i would go for the silverstone sugo evo or the lian li v300

Lian Li v300

both cases are a lot bigger in size to a shuttle but are very nice
cases

as for the mother board there is good choice but some of them are
hard to find now days.

best for clocking

DFI RS482 Infinity
Biostar T-Force 6100-939

got to be a sugo in my view. You might get away with the nt06 in regards the cooler, the sugo only allows cpu coolers upto 78mm iirc and the fans directly above the cpu in my case.
