Worth getting a 970 board for BE 955?

Hi.

My cheapo 880 MSI mobo just went bang and the shop are giving me a credit note.

If I add a bit of cash I can get a newer 970, but I think I'm right in saying I'd also have to get a cheap graphics card coz there's no onboard chip?

I'm running a Phenom 2 955 BE: future proofing aside - what kind of benefits, if any, might I see?

Bulldozer is rubbish and pretty much have nearly the same performance as the Phenom II series. No idea if Piledriver will work with the 970 chipset either.

Honestly I would just go for another cheap 800 series board with onboard GPU. You won't see any performance increase on your 955 moving from the 880G to the 970.
