Worth getting a sound card

Ive got JBL creature 2 speakers on my pc and am currently using the onboard sound card on my Asus M2N-SLi Deluxe motherboard. Is it worth getting a sound card? I was thinking of getting Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer 7.1 Sound Card.

I don't think the Gamer is a great card. I'd get the Xtreme Music instead.

Do you mean this one? What is the difference between the gamer and the music versions?

I got the same speakers and upgraded from Audigy 2 to X-FI Xtreme Music and i definitely noticed the difference.

I would've thought your onboard sound is much worse then the Audigy 2
