Do you think it is worth getting COD4 now?

I rented it the other day and really enjoyed the online side of it, But do you think that MW2 will completely kill the community?

Also, should I get it on 360 or ps3? I could get it on pc as well but I'm not sure if I want to be sitting at my desk playing it although I could easily run it at max settings, I don't really care about friends on either console as none of my friends play it regularly and I do slightly prefer the 360 pad but the silence of the PS3 cancels this out

Basically, Is it still worth getting COD4 and if it is then which format should I get it on?

Thanks

Brilliant game, definitely worth getting. There is still 3 months until MW2 is released which id say is plenty of time to get your moneys worth. All formats of the game are good, personally i prefer key board and mouse over xbox controller for fps and its a fair bit cheaper on the pc as well.

You still have 3 months until MW2 is released which will give you plenty of time to enjoy what the multiplayer has to offer.

You also get to enjoy playing the single player campaign through on Veteran difficulty (read: screaming profanities so loud the police are called whilst trying to do the same mission for the fourth time).

Still loving COD4 here and playing every day. Personally I'd say get it for the 360 purely because the pad is better for FPS games - entirely up to you though.

I'd get it, but be prepared to be killed! I borrowed it off a mate for the 360 a few weeks ago to try the multiplayer, and gave up after a couple of hours. Great fun, but everyone is too good at it now, and i don't like losing =(

If you plan on getting Modern Warfare 2 then I would pick Call of Duty 4 up now to get some practise in.

As I imagine the new one will be based on a similar engine so should feel the same, also the campaign is awesome!

Absolutely, pick it up immediately. Couple of my mates on PS3 bought it again after trading it away in preparation for Modern Warfare 2, every single one of them have said they can't believe they stopped playing this for World at War. The community is still very much alive, I'm sure 360 is no different. I'll be getting it for PC again once mine is back up and going.

I'm with the others, you should def pick this one up. I started playing COD:WAW instead for a while, but I always go crawling back to COD4! It's full of ninjas, but luckily I'm one of them :D (when my connection isn't FUBAR...)
