my question is would i see any benefit from adding another 4gb of ram?

its running fine at the moment but i thought while it is available it might be worth getting, maybe in a years time if i wanted it i might struggle to find the same ram which would mean replacing the lot?
thanks

For that price you may as well.

With Vista it'll use the extra RAM for superfetching additional applications, so you'll probably find applications that you don't use so often will open quicker, which is always nice.

I got the same ram as you (4gb)

I don't think my rig uses all of the ram, i always have 1gb+ free.

I was thinking of getting 8 but not worth it^, but if you got the money why not ;)

This as been asked a few times and the general opinion is that it's probably not needed at the moment but for this price you might as well just get it. I'll give you two other things to think about: You will end up thinking about getting an extra 4gig untill you end up buying it. With SDRAM and DDR1 the prices went right up when the newer RAM started becoming more common. Even though loads of people were still using DDR1, the prices shot right up.

Good point made by mame.

I'm in the same boat, once the idea of buying another 4gb hits you it starts a real itch. I'm hoping to scratch that itch soon ;)
