Hi guys, just curious about getting a new soundcard for my new system. Is it worth buying some £50+ soundcard instead of using the onboard audio? I currently use it for this pc for games etc and blast music out of my i-Trigue 3400 and there seems to be no problems? Would i hear any noticeable differences from buying a soundcard?

Thanks, Sainte

I would expect some difference in sound quality but other benefits are EAX for your games and taking some strain off the CPU :)

I have never really thought about getting a sound card, the onboard sound on this DS3 is good, running a cambridge audio a5 amp + eltax floor standing speakers

I honestly can't tell the difference between the sound quality from my sound card and my onboard sound.

But then again I don't play games so I wouldn't be able to use it properly I guess. Plus the sound card is pretty cheap anyway. (Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE)
