worth getting this.....

Dont think many games are optimized for quad, even dual core.
Try going for an 8800GTS instead i think, the improvement might be more noticeable?

Yeah, you will see a far better gain with an 8800 as opposed to a quad core. Buy a better HSF (assuming you are using the retial one) and overclock your system.

R600 then?

Personally I dont see why anyone would favour a company when another company has a better product.

Like I was all out AMD but I switched to Pentium in a second, I also like Ati but if I was after a Gfx card now it would be a 8800.

If you have a decent overclock on the e6600 then chances are you will not be able to match it (if you are on air) with the q6600 due to the temps so you would drop some fps there.

Since you are thinking of spending £350 on a new cpu then i reckon you should keep the e6600 and getting a gtx or one of the new ati cards would give you the best performance increase.

Hang on a second,

The OP is dismissing good advice by reason of not liking a particular manufacturer.

Your post has no substance my advise was to get a GTS.

Seriusly though you wouldent go Nvidia, thats pretty pathectic to be honest. :o

I would say go for the GTS but you might as well wait till ATIs card to come out and if its not up to much, what card your gonna get then?
