Worth going to Xp from 2K?

As title..is it worth going to XP when Vista isn't far away? I've been happy with 2K for ages but wanted to upgrade now as some software can be picky.

How long a shelf life will XP have? I'm so confussled

Depends on your system..if your PC is a stock 2000 machine, then it probably won't run Vista happily.

/Edit Personally, I'd upgrade to XP for the time being. See if Vistas worth the hype

Vista worries me, so for anything other than testing and what not I'll be sticking to XP on my Windows workstations. It's a fine platform.

Agree with Otacon (not just because he bans me). XP is great, I far prefer it to windows 2000. I can't even tell you why it just feels like home now!

having said that the first thing I do is change everything so it looks like windows 2000
