Ok, so now that I am a traitor and on the green team I have a question.

Is it worthwhile having a gpu (my gtx 580) just for physx? My main card is a 780ti and I game 2560x1440. Just don't wanna have an fps hit for those few titles that use physx.

Just to clarify, I am fully aware very few titles use physx but for the ones that do, should I keep my gtx 580?

If you can'r be hassled selling it, I imagine it will work a treat with PhysX. Actually I wouldn't mind if you do try it, you report back on how it works. Quite a few people have tried this but none give any feedback after (or not that I have seen).

May as well use the 580.

I USed a 670 for Physx for a period... Wasn't very taxing for it.

Really do need to get around to selling that card... Unless I jsut stick it in my media pc, and use it for occasional gaming in the living room.

Anyway, for what you paid for it, and what you can sell it for, I would just keep it.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll report back once I've tried it. The windforce version doesn't seem to hot tbh and I only paid £110 for it anyway so not like it's a huge wad of spare cash just sat in my comp.

Could you just underclock it to save some power and heat especially if it's not being being worked too hard?

Also a good idea, I might do that if the temps get a little toasty. Reminds me of when I had two 470's in SLI with hardly any gap between them and had to do the same just to keep them from melting my computer/me.
