hi i currently have a EVGA 8800gtx ultra it is about 6mnths old now
would it be worth selling it and upgradeing to the new ATI 4870
just a single card or does the My current card currently outclass it
?

4870 is better than your ultra, but your ultra can play all games fine and probably most upcoming games so i say hold on to it for a while longer, dont upgrade just for the sake of it. If you find games you really like but play like crap on your ultra and another card plays it way better, then is the time to upgrade.

well i was offered £140 for my 8800gtx so i thought if that was a good price
it was worth getting the new ATI card as my current card is now 6mnths old
and starting to get a little dated i was worried the ATI 4870 couldnt compete against it with just the 1 card and i would have to get x2 to get the same kind of perfomance but if you say the ATI is fast it possibly will sell mine and upgrade it :)

£140 for your card means its not much of an outlay to get the 4870, then i think you are right to sell up and get the 4870 as it does comprehensively beat the 8800GTX/ULTRA.

Any idea where i can find the latest driver for this card i dont see the 4870 driver on the official ATI site unless im looking in the wrong place?
