Hi Guys,
I would just like to ask for some advice please.
I currently have a gtx285,coupled with a core 2 duo extreme, nothing overclocked as I don't have the knowledge to do this. I mostly play BC2,and it runs OK,but I am just wondering if a gtx470 is better than my current card, and if it is would it be worth buying one that is already overclocked from OC?
Thanks in advance for your replies,
Andrea:)

Welcome to the forums.

I have a similar build to yours and I've had a good look at various cards, this is a good link

You will be able to compare your card to see if you are going to get the kind results you want, it's just an indication of what might be best.

I would look into overclocking your CPU if you would like to squeeze some more fun out of it - or even upgrade to a Q6600 or QX highend quad.

One more thing you could consider is getting another gtx285 and going SLi - you will need a compatable mobo of course. It would be a nice DX10 setup.

What res are you at?

285s are not slow sli'll be fast by most standards. Unless you have high res they should be acceptable for a good long while.

Wouldn't bother with a 470, wont be worth it, 460's ll be a sidestep.

If however you play a lot of new games, dx11 might be a perk, all said and done, no need to chose now if things run ok, wait for 6000 series, see how it changes things.

If it were me I would run it into the ground.
