Worth it?

Hello,

Would £1000 enable me to purchase a computer better than the following? I would require only the rig, no OS, monitors or peripherals.

Old computer specifications (bought in 2012, unable to supply links unfortunately);

I suggest you reword the question and see how close to that you can get for your budget - £1000 is it?

Will you need an OS again? Keyboard and mouse too? I assume you still have the monitors?

New graphics card/s would be the only parts id consider replacing. 2gb is cutting it a bit close with newer games. The rest looks grand.

i would sell the 680's and buy two 970's. after selling your 680's it shouldnt cost you that much to sli two 970 maybe around £300

Why 2 x 970's?
If he's running 1080p / 1440p one will be fine.

Personally, I have 2 x 680's under water and will be keeping them until they're struggling, which they aren't currently.

I was just curious if I'd to change anything to my build to support SLI 970's?

If not, could you recommend which 970 would be the best option?

You don't need SLI 970's, a single will be fine.

If i was buying a 970 now, id be going for the ocuk titan cooler version, best option for future upgrade to sli. 2x non reference cards in sli arent great tbh, but with the ocuk one, put it in the top slot and later add any other 970 for sli without temp concerns.
