Worth keeping my Xonar DGX?

I'm getting a new motherboard today. An MSI Z97 GAMING 5 which apparently has a Realtek ALC1150 with a long of improvements that MSI has made to their shielding and software offering. Does it still make sense to install my Xonar DGX in the new motherboard, or would the onboard be better?

Why not test both for yourself?

Don't install the sound card and try onboard, then disable the onboard in BIOS before installing the Xonar DG.

I think the point of the DG is that it has a built in amp as a cheap solution to drive more powerful headphones.

So it depends on what your using it with also.

I ended up keeping the DGX. The MSI board doesn't have colour coded audio ports (they're all black except line out, which is red - daft not sticking to regular colour scheme), and it was just more trouble than it's worth trying to figure out what goes where every time I unplug my headset.
