Worth overclocking further

Hi guys,

I was thinking about replacing my cooler with a TRUE and going for 3.5ghz, but other than for the bragging rights, is it really worth it? It's rock solid at 3.2ghz, but it's definitely lagging behind the overclocks people are squeezing out of the 8400s.

Current setup:

E6400 @3.2 1.42v (AC Freezer 7 Pro)
Gigabyte 965P-DS4
3gb Corsair XMS2 6400
8800GTX @650/2100 (AC Accelero Xtreme)
X-Fi Fatal1ty

If I don't change the cooling I'm thinking about replacing my 1gb kit with a 4gb kit (running Vista HP x64). Thing is, anything over 4gb seems to be bad news with an X-Fi. Worst case I could sell the X-Fi on ebay and get a Xonar DX instead, but again am I wasting my time?

Cheers!

You will see a bigger difference with 4gb than you will with 300mhz. Also I would recommend the Xonar over XFI everyday of the week.

Cheers for that - looks like more memory is definitely the way forward. Next stupid question - is it worth going over 4gb in Vista at the moment?

I'm running this at the moment: link, plus a 1gb kit of the same stuff. It seems a bit stupid to replace the 1gb kit with a 2gb kit, as I'm effectively only going to be gaining 1gb. So, should I stick with Corsair and buy one of these link? The only drawback is it's a c5 kit, and I'm running c4. My current kits default to C5 anyway, but am I likely to run into comability issues? I noticed OCUK list the timings on the 4gb kit as 5-5-5-12, but Corsair say 5-5-5-18 (which are the timings mine defaults to). Or is it worth changing brand?
