Worth overclocking the Northbride

LMAO WAIT WAIT!!! IVE MADEA TERRIBLE MISTAKE I DONT MEAN FSB -_- I mean Northbridge!!! sorry lmao

Im very bored -_- and decided to have a tinker with my pc :D Ive overclocked my CPU in the past but never really looked at the FSB or the ram. Ive noticed tho that ram overclocking on yeilds very small increase in performance. From what i understand the FSB helps buss the information around your pc (cpu to ram etc) So sounds perfect :D Its currently at stock. I cant seem to find any pros and cons tho. The only website i found said it can cause errors in the hard drive and gpu ><

1: will i see that much of an increase in performance?
2: Does it cause errors in HDD's and Gpus?

Sorry to ask (it may sound like im asking for a lesson in how to overclock -_- I'm honetsly not. I just cant find the answer to the questions :'( thanks for your help!

What is your current knowledge of overclocking? This will help us know what you do and dont know. On the very basic level of overclocking, you times the FSB by the multi to get you clock speed. So have you been overclocking using the multi?

I noticed in your sig you are running a AMD 955, I have no idea if they overclock using the same princibles as something like an Intel Q6600 so what I just said above might be useless.

(read O.P for update >< lol)
Ive never overclocked a intel but im pretty sure its diffrent. I just kept increaseing the multiplayer and then when it failed upped the voltage. Im FAR from an expert on overclocking :( I do know a little from reading about. I think the fsb or cpu .. (bad with names ><) is currently set to default (300- could be 200 >< lol! Its a long time since ive looked at bios sorry) and the multiplayer is set to 19x which gives me 3.8ghz (voltage set at 1.475 (stocks 1.4 i think)

I have no idea at this point how to overclock a FSB lol but i dont want to learn all about how to, if the increase in performance is tiny. The only reason i oc'ed my cpu is because i game a lot and knew it would help! While it did help in someplaces i also got a nice bonus in other areas; an increase in boot up times (welcome screen to being able to use it) and DVD ripping times.

Like i say i dont exspect you guys to have to teach me im more than willing to go off and learn by the 100's of postsa nd guides :D its just the increase in performance i wana try and know :(
