Worth running this ?

I have an old athlon 64 x2 sitting about and i was wondering if its worth putting it to work doing some crunching or would the scores not really be worth it ?

You won't get a huge amount of credit for the CPU but throw in an old GPU (GTX 2xx perhaps?) and you'll be sailing.

Be warned, this is a slippery slope. I started off with a spare Celeron system I wanted to use for crunching and ended up with two extra quad core rigs and four more GPUs. The celeron rig is still in bits on the floor not being used

:L I know plus I am a student so I don't have the funds to to get together the crazy rigs you guys have

also how much would that sort of card set me back and what wattage of psu will I need , very strict budget mind :L

You'll get a half decent card off MM for £25-50. A 500w PSU is adequate for something like a GTX260.

Thanks a lot , will put that together when I can and get crunching.
Also get some money going to my parents so that they don't go nuts at the lecy bill :L
