Hello guys,

Apologies in advance if I say something silly, as im a bit of a PC noob!

I have had to replace my motherboard, and ended up getting a secondhand ASUS Crosshair (as I wanted to keep my AMD Phenom X4 Black Edition 9950, 2600 MHz CPU due to being on a budget!) and this seemed a good option for a cheap gaming.

This MOBO has two PCIe x16 slot with NVIDIA SLI technology support, at full x16, x16 speed,

My GPU is a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 (896 MB) Black Edition

and I was wondering if it would be worth getting a second GTX 260 card for running SLI as they are only £50-70.

Or would it be better to sell my 260 and get a single card for around £120-50?

Go for a modern card that supports Directx11

I don't know that much about AMD cards but the HD 7850 is very popular for your budget.

In that case I may just go for a more beefy card that I can put into my next system when I get round to getting a new MOBO and CPU......see there are lots of deals on the GTX 660TI, how dose it match up to other cards in the £200-250 range?

I think the Red Team must have the night off. They can advise you better than me.

At the above price range if it was me I would probably be looking at one of the HD 7950 cards.

Is better a single powerful card and not two weak crowded cards added together, there will be better cooling airflow around the single powerful card and will be easier to replace the stock cooler with an bigger aftermarket cooler, remember that the electronics work worst and last less in hotter conditions
