Worth swapping my 1070 for a 1080?

I just managed to get a MSI 1080 Armour oc for £409, is it worth keeping and swapping for 1070?

I know their could be a refresh on the way, but had no plans to swapping my 1070 anyway.

Bench it and see how much better it is. Also look on MM and see what 1070s go for. Then you can make an informed decision

I game at 1440

I guess you should get near £300 for your 1070, so £100 for a fair bump in performance at 1440 isnt too bad.

It's also a 144hz panel

Keep the 1080, you'll need the extra at 1440p imo (esp 144hz). I have the 1080Ti at this res/hz and feel it is a good combo

Keep it, sell the 1070.

The armor OC has poor cooking imo, so check temps, you may need to improve case airflow.

It's fine for anything upto a 1080, it's the 1080Ti where it really starts to struggle.

OK, well my case has good ventilation as it use to cope with keeping a 7990 cool before I got the 1070.

Armor should be no problem at all on the 1080, as above it can't cope with the 1080Ti.

Everytime you put in a new card you should update drivers. You won't need DDU unless you're going from AMD to Nv or Vice versa. Just a clean install will do.
