Worth the Outlay?

Currently in my 'At work' rig, I have an ATi X850XT, which while not a slouchy card, is starting to show its age on the newer titles.

Was wondering if anyone reckons its worth spending the £140 to get a X1950Pro. Will I be seeing a huge improvement over what I already have?

The rest of the rig is a Athlon 64 3500+ Winnie, Asus A8VN Mobo, 1 Gb Crucial MX mem.

Definately, the performance increase will be absolutely staggering, i went from an x800 XT PE to an x1800 XT and was totally blown away, its incredible, i had a 3500+ then as well.

yea, x1950pro can be had for cheaper than the above price inc vat and delivery and its an awsome card for that price, only other thing that competes with it is the 7900gs which can be faster when overclocked. but at stock the x1950pro is very quick and doesn;t seem to have the reliability issues of the 79 series cards.

TBH, i didnt know about this little cracker of a card until i read a review in a nice shiny 'puter mag yestarday.

Must say i was a little amazed when i read the specs and for sucha small price.

Have £60 put aside, so guess I will have to start routing down the back of every couch and chair till i find the remaining £70.

Feel a burst of 3DM06 coming on in a before/after sty-lee.

i have the sapphire x1950 pro 256 £135 i think it is on here its a great card it will deffinatly be faster than your x850xt not mind blowing fsaster but it will be faster and also it will be a lot quiter and cooler and use less power

Yeah thats in here, you can mention competitors pricing in the console section about the 360, big thread in there with everyone saying how much they can get 360's for with the Don's joining in, even though they are all competitors prices as these guys sell em, but as i said its allowed in there.
