Worth the upgrade from 4770k to 5820k?

Be using mainly for video editing and games. Will I see a performance increase in these two areas? If so what motherboard would be good for OC the chip?

Thanks
Spike

The extra cores would certainly help for video encoding and rendering. You probably wouldn't see much difference in games.

I'm still rocking a 3930k and games don't even make full use of that so yeah.

Maybe be worth waiting a few months for the new Skylake chips which I think have a new socket for the motherboards, maybe not as fast as the 5820K but should be faster than the 4770K and with probably better future proofing with the new socket set on the board, though im not 100% about that.

Not worth it in my opinion unless you do a huge amount of video editing. Even If you're set on upgrading I'd wait till at least Skylake arrives so you can hopefully get more performance for your money.
