Hi, Im thinking of upgrading my ageing 6600GT but i'm not sure which upgrade I should go for. I was thinking about getting the XFX GeForce 7800GT Extreme Edition 256MB GDDR3 for £176 but I have also seen the XFX GeForce 7900 GT 256MB GDDR3 for £235. Would it be worth getting the 7900 over the 7800 in terms of the price difference? Would the boost in performnce from the 7900 be worth more than the price difference?

You might wanna think about the x1800xt 512mb version on this week only, its the same price as the 256mb 7900GT and a bit faster in quite a lot of stuff, esp direct3D stuff.

Yeah you have to select Sat delivery though, and i think its dearer. 
Yes the 512mb helps with the resolutions, the higher you go the more frames it pulls ahead of the 256mb one, thats resolutions from 1280x1024 and upwards, and it also helps in the AA/AF dept.

The 7900 GT is about on par with the 7800 GTX, the x1800 XT is faster as said above.
