Worth the upgrade??

I currently have the following

DFI Ultra-D (socket 939)
Opteron [email protected] on arctic freezer 64 pro
X1800xt@700core 800mem on accelero X2
2gb Gskill HZ

would it be worth me getting something like a duel core 4600? or 4000 or whatever or just holding out for a while and upgrading all at once?

All at once on a core 2 duo rig if you ask me.

yeh, not that much but other than that just net, films and music. im mainly thinking on the lines of crysis etc and if they will play much better on duel core with current setup without throwing a load of money on a new setup

If you can hold for 6-8 weeks, I would say do so, then do an all out build when the new C2D's are out

Unless its seriously struggling in what you ask of it, dont bother. (even then a gpu upgrade should do the trick)

Hold out till quad core becomes cheaper/more mainstream, for games thats is a perfectly acceptable system.

Wait, get a C2D later on when you need it. Don't bother upgrading for Crysis now, its prolly not even going to be out til the end of the year anyway. By which point chips will be cheeper, there'll be a refresh, and new GPU's will be out.
