Worth the upgrade?

Hi,

Looking to upgrade my graphics as it struggles to run CoD4 and other games with some nice eye candy and at 1680x1050.

Current specs:
E6600 (Stock) (thinking on upgrading to a Q6600)
4GB RAM
8800GTS 320MB
22" @ 1680x1050
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R

I was thinking about the new 8800GT 512MBs, but not sure if it'd be worth waiting for the 9800 series (though I have no idea when they'll be released) or if there's something better than the 8800GT 512MB.

GT should be a nice boost, and your GTS still should be worth something now.

I have a similar rig (and run games at the same resolution) and the GT (possibly the GTS) is what I'm going for. I'd clock your e6600 though

I'd wait a couple of weeks its not as if you cant play anything on your system at the moment., I'm sure you can cope with lowering the settings for a small amount of time. See what could be coming out in the coming weeks.

I dont know , But there is other cards on the horizon such as the HD3870X2 and if thats price well it should be a good buy and then there is Nvidia offerings too, 9800GX2 or something.
