Worth The Upgrade?

Hi guys, wondering if you can help...

I'm considering an upgrade for my 8800 GTX 768MB as I typically buy a new card roughly every 12 months and I've had my GTX since April last year - I noticed that the "XFX ATI Radeon HD 4870 1024MB" is on offer this week.

Is this a worthwhile upgrade? I'm currently running reasonable frame-rates on a 24" screen at 1920 x 1200 with most settings on medium/high but not max.

Am I likely to notice much benefit with the 4870?
