Hey guys,

Do you think this would be much of an upgrade? on cpu, mobo and ram?

From this:

Intel Q6600 @ 3.5Ghz -
Asus P5Q SE P45
4GB Ocz Gold Series Pc6400 @ 932Mhz

to this?

Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz Socket LGA1156 8MB L3 Cache
Gigabyte GA-P55-US3L P55 Socket 1156
G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7(7-8-7-24) 1.65V

I already have these below..

Radeon HD 4890 XXX Edition 1Gb GDDR5
Seagate Barracuda 250Gb SATAII 16MB Cache
Western Digital Caviar 500Gb SATAII 16MB Cache
Ocz Mod-Xstream pro 600W (Modular)
Creative Soundblaster X-FI Extreme Fidelity
Coolermaster 690 (Modded)

I probably would overclock the i5 to around the same if possible? 3.5Ghz ish.

It's a decent upgrade yeah but not huge. Are you finding your Q6600 has started to struggle with something or have you just got the upgrade itch? Personally I'm keeping my Q6600 as long as possible as it still copes happily with what I'm using it for.

nope, there isnt anything my Q6600 is struggling with, that along with my 4890 just blasts through anything at highest settings and still gets good framerates.

Like you said,Basicly just an upgrade itch. :D

The only thing thats making my system slow is my hard drive :/,id love and SSD drive but its £200 for an 80gb

i'd stick just now and wait untill the 6 core cpu's are out then see whats what.
that's what i'm doing and i'm running a similar spec
