So i currently have a 955be and Asus m4a motherboard
i have been been offered a i7 920 for £130, add to that about £100-£150 for a solid Motherboard would that be a worthwhile upgrade, i am getting a watercooling setup soon and will be either overclocking the 955be or the i7 920 depending on which i get, so would it be a good performance increase for the price?

yeah i know :)

hearing that the i7 can clock to 4Ghz+ and the fact that i am not too sure how far the 955be can clock i just wanted to check and given that i would sell the 955be+MB i just wanted to check

what kind of heat are you getting from yours @ 3.6?

Getting probs around 50-70 during games, can't do furmark or anything atm as i'm not at home

There will be a screen that pops up when you turn on your pc saying "asus" and the mobo name, on asus boards it's usually delete that you need to press to enter setup so if you keep pressing that whilst that screen turns up you should end up in the bios :)

I think I posted that message in the wrong thread, was meant to be in the UD5 thread :x

I'm sitting at around 83-88 degrees under 100% stress (only one core goes over 85 degrees), but nothing else stresses the CPU to 100% so its fine. They need to remain <85 degrees.
