Worth the Upgrade ?

Hi all. just new to the boards and looking advice. I currently run 3ghz Core Duo (oc'd to 3.5 stable) 4gig Corsair DDR Ram and an nVidia MSI 8800 GTS.

This setup still performs good enough to play WoW just below full settings. With the new patch I have noticed quite a large drop in performance.

I was thinking of upgrading the Graphics card and stretch it for a further year or so before doing a full system upgrade.

Will jumping from the 8800 GTS to say MSI GeForce GTX 470 1280MB provide much of a noticable difference.

It would provide a massive difference. Which version of the 8800gts do you have, and what res do you play at?

Its the MSI 8800 GTS OC 512. Was a brilliant card in its day. Screen rez 1680x1050.

Yeah a 470 will eat that res for breakfast and still want more

Maybe pushing a bit more out of the CPU will give it more legroom, if its an option for you.
